We assume that your first triathlon is unlikely to be a full Ironman right away (though there are definitely a few specialists who have tried that). - Energy gel or another form of carbohydrates.
- Loose change for a light snack or drinks after the race.
- Warm clothes to warm you up after the race.
- Healthy snacks if you want to eat a bite before the race.

Ok, so you have now put out everything you need and again checked that nothing is missing. Well prepared, so to speak. But now simply stow everything in the same place is not the solution, because here too you lose the overview at some point without organization. Some things you should always have on you, others stowed in the transition zone. Good planning is everything here.

- Place your cycling helmet upside down on the handlebar, with the sunglasses already open lying in the helmet.

- For the absolute emergency: Put your bicycle pump next to the bike. You’ve already pumped up your tires, but double safety can never hurt.
- Fold your towel and bring it to the other things. If the water is particularly salty or if you sweat a lot, you can dry yourself with it during the change.
- Depending on the weather: Lubricate yourself with sunscreen and then put it on the towel, just in case.
- Energy bars, gels or other carbohydrate suppliers.
- Put your running cap and running shoes Put the socks already in the shoes to save some more time.
- Mark your storage location and memorize the environment well, to quickly find your place in a change. Also, note the way to the entrance or exit from the transition zone.
- The swimwear is not logically in the triathlon checklist zone but is right at the swim start to wear.
Ready for Race
Ok, now you are really well prepared. You are now wearing only your swimsuit, your heart rate monitor, plastic bag, swimming cap, swimming goggles (and possibly eyeglass spray), water bottle, snacks and some change. Anything you do not need for the competition, you should pack in a bag, stick your start number on it and give it to the designated place.
