If you follow near or far the famous bicycle races activity of professional cycling, you could not miss the week of Paris-Nice, which has just ended. Like every year, we were treated to lots of lowland stages with wind, snow, medium altitude mountain stages, etc.
In the end, the last winner of the Tour de France, Alberto Contador, won without difficulty this edition, despite a small fright in the first stage, during which he was trapped by a border.
A 20-year-old who explodes everything
If I propose this article, it is not to summarize this Paris-Nice 2010, but rather to focus on the revelation of the week, the young Slovak Peter Sagan. See on how to benefits riding a bicycle of your health?
Born on January 26, 1990, this neo-pro has just masterfully won two stages of the race to the sun. It can be said without complex, it is THE revelation of Paris-Nice 2010.
A career that starts well
Born of mountain biking, a discipline in which he won the Junior World Champion title in 2008, Peter Sagan has already given us a remarkable start to the season. Early this year, he had shown his advantage in Australia on the Tour Down Under. He had in this test of recovery impressed for a newcomer in the pack.
Several times a member of breakaways, he had attacked in the hardest stage, which he finished at a good 5th place, in the wheel of world champion Candle Evans. The excuse of the little! Already 29th in the final general classification of the Australian event, the season was already well launched for the young Czech.
Back in Europe, he was at the top of the rankings only in the Grand Prix of the Etruscan Coast in Italy, where he took an anonymous but convincing 15th place. Best BMX bicycles have very specific to the public demand-
An impressive punch
At the start of Paris-Nice, few people thought to see this unknown runner explode in the eyes of the general public. From the prologue, he showed his good form by taking the 5th place. Having never really shone in this specialty, we could suspect that the young Czech had legs of fire!
From the 3rd stage, he imposed his speed to his companions and gleaned a first big victory. At Aurillac, we thought we had seen everything, but no! Two days later, Peter Sagan put the cover back, winning in a final for cortex. On the attack in a bump two kilometers from the finish, nobody saw him before the line of Aix-en-Provence.
On these two victories, we could see the whole class of this young runner, who seems to have exclusivity famous bicycle races out of the ordinary. It’s only the beginning of the season, and we can say that all the riders are not yet in shape. But still, winning two stages this way in Paris-Nice, at just 20 years old, is not trivial.
I hope for him that he will not be a mere shooting star … He is currently negotiating with his Liquigas-Doimo team to participate in Milan San-Remo.
